FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the purpose of MOVE…Leaving the Table For The Floor?
The purpose of the MOVE initiative is to engage our entire church in giving time, money, resources, and energy to accomplish the following strategies over the next 2 years:

  • Community Transformation: Our love for one another makes the Gospel more believable to an unbelieving world. We will place greater emphasis on fostering a culture of true Biblical community within our walls to more effectively transform the community outside our walls.
  • Church Multiplication: Multiplying churches is the most strategic way to grow the Body of Christ in our city and world. We will multiply churches across Atlanta, North America, Scotland, and anywhere else God gives an opportunity.
  • Campus Renovation: Putting down physical roots in a community provides greater opportunities to serve and reach people with the Gospel. We will expand our current campus in Cartersville and raise money to purchase a future home for our Adairsville location.

What is the financial goal of this initiative? Our financial goal is $9,779,854 million, and raising this amount of money will require 100% participation from the members of our church. This goal is nearly twice as much as Crosspoint has raised in the past 2 years, but we trust a God who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.

Why are we doing this now? The simple answer: because the mission of Jesus requires it! We have huge opportunities before us to impact our local community in greater ways by opening the doors of our property throughout the week to serve suffering people. We’re being called on to help lead the way in church planting efforts both in Atlanta and across the United States. Furthermore, Jesus calls every one of us to make his mission our way of life, which requires every person at Crosspoint to be trained in how to share the Gospel, how to teach others to follow Jesus, and how to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis. By taking hold of these opportunities now, we expect to make a bigger Kingdom impact than ever before!

When will this initiative begin and end? The Move Initiative will begin in February 2020 and go through February 2022.

Are my giving gifts “over and above” my normal tithe and other offerings? Move is considered a “One fund” initiative. That means that all giving is rolled into one budget vs. a campaign where ministry and projects are separate. Typically with campaigns, people give to one and/or the other, whereas with this initiative, a one fund, everyone is giving to the mission.

When will we be asked to make our commitment? Commitment Sunday will be Sunday, February 9th.

Can my gift involve stocks or other assets in addition to cash? Absolutely. If this is the case, please email operations@crosspointcity.com for further assistance.

What all will take place on Commitment Sunday? On Commitment Sunday we will worship, celebrate, and pray over what God has planned for the coming years at Crosspoint. We will ask our entire church, 100%, to participate by committing to give financially to the MOVE initiative. We ask that everyone submit their Move commitment card on this day at the end of each gathering.

Will financial commitments be made public? We will make public and celebrate the total 2-year commitment given by the entire church. Personal financial commitments will NOT be made public or shared in any way.

Can commitments be changed if necessary? Absolutely. We understand that life circumstances can shift our ability to give generously in negative and positive ways. If you need to change your commitment, please email operations@crosspointcity.com.
